Guest Andy1 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Well that's that theory out the window then!! What else would only allow it to ring for two seconds then stop????? I have a pull up resistor on it!!!
Vince8282 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 As PJF depends on how it's progged but more often than not when you remove the triggar it usually stops. This would not happen under normal circumstances because on a genuine alarm there is no one there to switch it off. Practice in the morning, practice at night. Practice in the evening, until you get it right. Only make sure you are practising in the right way at the right time for it.
Guest Andy1 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I see your point,,, I will let the alarm last a bit longer and see what happens..... Just so that I am perfectly clear how this works: If I have triggar polarity set to negative on the speech dialer,, that means that it needs a constant 12+ volts supplied to the (alarm) 'c' terminal - and when that 12+ volts is removed - it then starts dialing?? is that right?? or does the 12+ volts need to become negative to start the dialer???????
Vince8282 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 No it wont stop when the alarm is reset once tripped the sd1 will only stop when 8 is pressed. Or when it finaly gives up Abort options:1) Apply signal to the abort input(not in this case) 2) Restore the triggar input(as in this case) When aborted the unit immediately shuts down. Not theory it's fact. Best wishes Vince Practice in the morning, practice at night. Practice in the evening, until you get it right. Guest bert racoon Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 hello I have fitted many of the Sd1+ speech diallers o0ver the years and i know them very well. The problem you decribe can be caused by a couple of items (1) The trigger is not correct, try putting a perminant 0v on your trigger wire. ! (I'M SURE YOU HAVE THIS RIGHT BUT ITS BEST TO TRY!!) (2) This is what i think it may be ! you are dialling a mobile phone maybe on the orange network ?? If this is the case then you have to add some 000 on the end of your phone number. But it works in test condition i hear your cry !! makes no difference ! the test condition works completely differently to when you trigger the alarm for real. The data is all storred in the unit and sent out alot faster, sometimes it can be a bit to fast for the orange network. By adding some zero's you slow the prossess down. Trust me it works (3) Factory default the unit ! The SD1+ micro chips can pick up problems when being moved from place to place ! (power down & re-power with the factory reset pins shorted) (4) still no joy ! try the unit on a different phone line ! some NTL or other line providers voltage can be a little bit lower than the standard 50v bt. The line gain can be increased by your line provider if this is the case. Good luck Bert Racoon
dave ferguson Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I had the same problem with a sd1. Rang the mobile for 1 second and then hangs up.It baffled me. I tried it ringing my own mobile it worked fine, and guess what his phone was on the orange network. Thanks for that tip of putting 000s on the end I will remember that!!
Guest Andy1 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Thank you Bert Oh Wise One!! Experience is what it's all about! I put my number in as the second phone number (02 network) and it called it perfectly and gave me the message. I tried my number as the first and his number as the second - I blamed it on the Orange network as a bit of fun!!!! I never dreamed that it was for real. I just left it as: he would have to respond if the number ever rang his phone! I looked at this forum to see if there was a new post (just in case) GREAT!! Now I can go back and smile!!! trying the zeros was a clever thought, I will add them and let you know! I think you already know the answer Many thanks
Guest Andy1 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I thought I had replied to this ages ago!!!!! Bert you were spot on,, was it ever in doubt?? again,, YOU da man! :-/
binthere Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 hello Blimey Talk about complicate matters, your description would be great to help prevent a Russian invasion fleet. We have fitted 1200 SD1+'s all have been great we have never added tele no's but have found that on some Broadband lines it does not 'tone' out so it is easy we either get it to 'pulse' out or fit a filter as for adding 000 'whatever for'; I have fitted many of the Sd1+ speech diallers o0ver the years and i know them very well.
