Guest heliart Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I'm wanting to run an extension speaker out to my workshop so I can hear the various chimes I'm going to setup on my Texecom unit in the house. Is there any problem with say routing speaker cablealong with the sensor cables over 15 or 20 meters or so? , Steve
Guest graale00 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 You could even use the spare chords on the one cable if you have enough. 8 Core one pir with Tamper/Relay/Power wired in should leave you two lovely wires for your speaker! Chop block inside the PIR out to the speaker would be my method.
norman Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I would always run the speaker on a seperate cable. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
breff Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 If you can run it seperate do so( the more spares the better) , as long as it isnt in the same multicore as data though it doesnt matter (although in theory you could get induced ac from the speaker onto the 12vdc ,but as the speaker wouldnt be sounding when the system is set, unless an alarm occurs, it wouldnt be there to cause a false alarm) The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
