Guest burak Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Hi all, I wish to install an Ademco Vista 20PS control panel with the 6270 Touch Control keypad in my home. I have previously installed Texecom Veritas R8 panels and Omnicron 8000 panels but have never wired a EOL system before. Not only does the the Ademco Vista 20PS control panel requires EOL wiring, but the system is not available in the UK and I have found a supplier in the USA who is happy to ship to UK. (I am happy to use a voltage step-down transformer so that the supplied 110v transformer can be used in the UK). Can anybody recommend an installer in the County Durham / Cleveland area of the UK who I can contact to wire this system (all cables are already routed and ready to be wired to the control panel, keypad and sensors etc)? Many thanks, Mark

Guest burak Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Mark One question why? Hi Peter, Thanks for your response. 3 reasons 1. Because the TouchScreen 'keypad' panel is compatible with the Vista-20P and Vista-20PS panels and it looks much more aesthetically pleasing than the 'run-of-the-mill' LED or LCD keypads. Yep, a lame excuse, but am being honest But also because the Vista-20P and Vista-20PS panels have functions that I desire, being: 2. They support 3 arming modes, being: Away, Stay, Night. 3. I want to wire a Napco 2-Way Universal LCD remote Keyfob Kit (2WAY-UNIVKF) to the alarm panel so that the alarm can be armed and dissarmed using the remote LCD keyfob. But I also want to use the LCD remote Keyfob to operate a pair of electronic gates and electric garage door (means I don't need a separate remote keyfob for each device). http://www.napcosecurity.com/specsheets/na...obspecsheet.pdf The Napco 2-Way Universal LCD remote Keyfob Kit (2WAY-UNIVKF) can be wired to the keypad bus of the Vista-20P and Vista-20PS panels. I cannot have the Napco 2WAY-UNIVKF wired to a panel in 'universal' wiring mode because I want the * button of the 2WAY-UNIVKF keyfob to operate more than 1 relay. Only when the 2WAY-UNIVKF is wired to the keypad bus of a compatible alarm panel can the * button of the 2WAY-UNIVKF keyfob operate 2 relays (namely electric gates and electric garage door). I know I could have a compatible Napco alarm panel installed which is available in the UK, but I know the Ademco Vista is also compatible, has the arming functions I desire and the Touchscreen keypad panel just looks so cool. It's not as if the system is being installed for a customer and HAS to meet BS or Euro standards coz it's my personal home and I would not hold anybody who assists me with the installation responsible for anything going wrong with the system because I appreciate it is not a UK system. But I am prepared to take that chance. I just need somebody who knows about wiring alarm panels in EOL mode and can read a wiring diagram better then to give me some help coz I've already installed the 6 core alarm cables throughout the house and it's just a case of having somebody help me with the wiring at the control panel. Yep .... customers ..... they're always wanting something out of the norm Anyway, if you guys can advise of anybody I can contact in the NE to assist me, it would be much appreciated. Can you please repost it. Many thanks, Mark
