Guest IM_Alarms Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 what is the most affective way to alarm a roller shutter Or tell it that it's about to get ram raided!!
norman Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Arf. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
morph Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 We generally use Heavy Duty Contacts, follow this link and it will tell you a bit more about it, the interconnecting cables are also protected by aluminium tube down the side of the shutter. http://www.oslgroup.com/UploadedFiles/8/7/...39063362500.pdf

cymruchris Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I'd agree with all the above... from my experience investigating burglaries and ram-raids - I'd make sure that any shutters over 6ft-7ft wide have a contact on both sides..... I've seen a few roller shutters levered up on the opposite side to the contact - which as a resut failed to trigger the alarm... Covered PIR's didn't help either...
