Guest mackie Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Some one please help, The post started to trigger my alarm when shoved through the front door, so i tried to move the sensor which wouldnt budge. I then opened it to get to the joint. I have now moved it to a suitable position, but now i cant set the alarm as it says, Zone 1 tamper "Check" any advice ????
Guest rjbsec Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 You've probably created a tamper fault when moving the detector - most likely you: 1) Re-wired it incorrectly, or 2) Didn't put the detector front back on properly, or 3) Dropped the tamper spring from inside the detector Plus you posted twice which is even worse!
Guest Peter James Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Please dont double post you wont get twice as many answers!! Second post deleted.

Sorry posted twice as i tried to correct a spelling mistake as the post went through. Have opened the sensor again spring in still there. cover is on firmly and correctly did not take any wires out, so did not re wire incorrectly, Is their a reset switch in the sensor. and should the problem be fixed sensor end or control panel end?
Guest rjbsec Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 If you are absolutely sure that the sensor cover properly depresses the tamper spring then it may simply be that you haven't tried to reset the panel. Enter your code and when it asks if you want to set the system press [Yes] - as it starts to set enter your code again to switch it off; hence resetting the panel. If the above doesn't work then either you haven't cleared the reason for the fault or possibly the panel has been programmed to be reset by an engineer - a local installer may be able to help you, if you post where you are someone here may be close to you.

Thank you. Fixed it, the spring was old and not coiled properly, re stretched it and tamper message has now reset.
