Guest italiastar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I've decided to change my superb A1 alarm which has started playing up after nearly 11 maintenance free years. I've been recommended a Scantronics 9651, but reading here they seem to be have a problem with noisy trannys and are rated as basic. I like the ADE, considered the Pyronix with built in communicator, and also Texcomm, Can you please advise me with your recommendations for a DIY fit - this does not mean that it has to be simple as I've fitted several systems including a Texcomm. Can you also recommend a sounder - I've been recommended a FlashGuard - any thoughts, please?
PJF Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I would say go with Texecom. You mentioned that you have already done one of there panels, so you will know what to exspect. Also Texecom do a fairly good range of external bells. Top tip: if you ever catch fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because i bet thats what REALLY throws you into a panic and dont forget the one thing you cant recycle is wasted time.
Alarm Protection Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 You could go for the ADE Compact or the Gardtec Eurosec CP8 range. Good and reliable panels. The Gardtec bells are also a good range. !
Adi Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Texecom Excel. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
Alarm Protection Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 To be fair i have fitted a lot of compact panels and they have never had a battery fault after the 5 year battery change. Texecom,ADE or Gardtec would give you a good system. Gardtec CP8 would be my choice. !
