Vcl Telemetry Controls - Settings Help Please?

Now this is my first post here on 'thesecurityinstaller' and hope someone can help me out here. There seem to a be a wealth of professional people here.. so let's see how in-depth your knowledge is....

I'm working for a national retailer, who some time ago (ok donkeys years ago) had some CCTV fitted by a bit of a rip off CCTV company... (Can we name names? - we asked them 2 years ago to fix a multiplexer and time lapse video recorder - they took it away - it's not been seen since) We have one working system left - and we'd like to keep it going but can't find any setup instructions for the PTZ telemetry controller made by VCL.

It's a VCL VC1TPC - anyone got one? Or remember it? It's a lovely beige coloured box with a load of blue and red buttons on it... No joystick - just button pushing for movement and zoom... I've managed to figure out how to set presets - but want to set up some patrols... I did set one up about 2 years ago - and remember it needed to be told which patrol, which camera pre-sets, the dwell, and the speed of camera movement... But my memory isn't what it used to be.

So if anyone has a copy of the original instructions - or is clever enough to remember how to set a patrol - or can point me in the right direction on the web - it'll be a great help. I've spent an hour or so tonight trying to find details on the web. When I search for VCL VC1TPC on google - all I seem to get back is porn.. Don't think that's going to help somehow :cold2:

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

The system is in perfect working order - I just need to set some patrols up on it... :)

First set your presets up by moving camera to required position-press and hold PRESET button then required NUMBERED button IE for preset one press camera one button etc.

Next to set up a patrol 1 of your selected presets.

1,Press 1 then press and hold autopan.( you now have to keep autopan pressed untill you finished programming this patrol).

2, Select preset number (ie press 1 then preset).

3, Select speed you want the camera to travel (ie press 50 (for 50 degrees a second) then press the 180 degree button).

4, Select the dwell time you want the camera to stay on that preset ( ie for 5 seconds press 5 then press time button)

You now the first location in your tour.

5,Repeat 2 to 4 above for all the other presets you want in you tour.

6, When you have completed the amount of positions you require in your tour take your finger which has now gone numb of the autopan button.

To activate the tour press camera one button then autopan button.

You can also make up a different tour say tour two using a diffent combination of your presets, just program as above but start off by pressing 2 and holding autopan, and start tour 2 by pressing 2 then autopan.

I find if you have a lot of presets to program in your tour its best to have a freind to assist you to remind you which is the next preset to add. The times I have started programming and forgot where I was half way through and had to start again.

I have a manual, Iwill dig it out and E-mail you copy.

Yeah. Can be a pain with setting up tours on the older systems. You spend 5 minutes putting in a 20 position tour and the customer asks if the 7th position can be made to stay put for a little longer. The whole tour has to be programmed again.

The latest VCL controller is fantastic as you can now go into a list of all your presets on the tour and change an individual setting. Well done to VCL for that one.

Thank god for that. Havn't seen any of the new ones as we dont fit VCL any longer.

Been installing all week. 8 way Dowshu and 3 VCL domes. The job is a notable one for me as I get to play with these new VCL Platinums. Supposedly a x27 optical zoom and an improved night operational lux level. Luckily they are to be fitted with corner brackets to brickwork so hopefully, none of that 'zoomed right in wobble' that would make a x27 zoom pretty pointless if theres a bit of wind.

VCL VC1TPC

Still looking for an original instruction manual for this if anyone could have another search, the manual Honeywell are supplying for this is the latest version, even they aren't confessing to hold information on this old controller.

I have tried a few companies I knew dealt with VCL in the early days but no joy.

Well well thats the first time I've heard the dreaded zoom wobble mentioned by others I've got a 2060 installed at dagenham just up from the river and its a shame that the excellent x26 zoom is only any good if its dead calm which is almost never hence the recent installation in dag of two damn great wind turbines---have heard of at least one company including a version of cam corder anti picture juggle software in their dome does anyone know who/what and if its any good?
