ranger Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 No.. i do not use wireless a lot.. but i have installed many of them and as i said.. all of them are very very good and have had no problems at all.. easiest installs IMO.. but that is only my opinion As i said, i much prefer hard wired systems anyday and so do many as i said. I would use a hardwired system TBH Greebo as the wiring is there and it could be a lot better for your protection in the long run. I see wireless as a last resort and it shouldnt be used as an easier method of wiring. Thats my opinion anyway.. ranger Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Ive never worked with a hybrid panel but i can imagine that they would be a good panel. The above is my personal opinion and not that of my employer or anyone else.

Guest Greebo Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Best of both worlds I guess a hybrid is more expensive again? It would be perfect, I could resuse what cabling I need and then have wireless PIRs (where the larger size is not as important)
ranger Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 i believe they would cost inbetween the cost of a hardwired panel and a wireless... i saw one on ebay once. Useful panel i suppose. Worth looking into, or use a hardwired alarm panel.. hopefully the wiring is still in good condition. IMO a hardwired would be the way to go. Unless you could find a decently priced hybrid panel. Have fun. Ranger The above is my personal opinion and not that of my employer or anyone else.

However for the DIYer, hardwired gives you more scope for checking things if the installation goes wrong..
