andyhodson Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Just after a recomendation for a PIR which would be suitable for siting in a potentially draughty garage? Manufacturer
Guest Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Alternatively, buy a new garage! Or a bag of sand and cement and a box of silicone.
Lectrician Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Or a bag of sand and cement and a box of silicone. A box of silicone Assume you mean, say, 12 tubes I get what that is for...but the cement - im lost Email : martin@askthetrades.co.uk
Guest Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 A box of silicone Assume you mean, say, 12 tubes Yup. I get what that is for...but the cement - im lost The really large holes.
Guest security.eng Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 napco or rokonet are good dt makes, they work in extreme temps, but remember to seal all entry holes.
Guest Alarm Guard Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 What affect do draughts have on a pir sensor? They see the area as just a collection of hot, cold & warm areas or objects. If a block of air can blow into the room the heat pattern would be altered enough to trigger the sensor
djrock Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 a good pir will work as well as any dt in a a garage..why oh why do people see dt's as the answer to everthing....ive got a ir 220 in my garage with no probs...remember dt's false alarm everyday it not what you fit its where you fit it...id choose a good pir over a average dt anyday.. But it also depends on the environment of the garage. Every garage is different. Everyone has there own opinion. Maybe i was a bit strong in saying Standard pirs are useless in a garage environment. djrock
