Guest wiggywam Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Hi Everyone, Like many others I have inherited a Veritas 8C panel, without instructions etc, when we bought the house two weeks ago. We managed to obtain the code from the previous occupants when my two-year-old son hit the panic button! I want to disarm this feature but when I enter the code, one of the zone LED's lights up and pressing "prog" just results in what I assume is a fault tone. ONe of the PIR detectors appears to be faulty (no red light on). Any suggestions as to how I can: 1) get past this fault to program new codes/zones etc 2) disarm the panic button COl
Guest dale Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Easiest thing to do is call an engineer as they will be able to do this in a few minutes and charge about £30-£50, but it will probably take you hours. And just because an LED on a PIR doesnt come on doesnt mean its faulty, it may have had the LED turned off. The easiest way to disable the panic button is to take the cover off of the panic button and put a link over the reed switch, this will short circuit the switch mechanism. Dale
