Guest rjbsec
2 of my 4 PC's are Dells and all going well, mind you the main work Dell never touches the Internet. The PC's that do connect have 3 x spyware softwares, 3 x anti-virus softwares and a couple of firewalls! Add to that Acronis Trueimage for complete hard drive image every night and less prone to problems.

morph
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam Then search google for adaware and spybot search and destroy both free. You should also get a virus checked, i use trend pccillan very good and you get a thirty day free trial.

Guest rjbsec
I ditched Norton some time ago as it caused m,e grief in missing viruses - it doesn't update frequently enough. I now use Nod32 by Eset and it updates regulary several times each day as does Kaspersky mentioned above - anything that doesn't update daily is not equipped to deal with the nuber of new viruses etc that are being found ... http://www.virus-radar.com/index_enu.html
FASTCAR
QFA , Nod32 at work , Avast at home (free) , both automatically update.Unless its a hardware problem can't see what Dell can do for you .Got mine from Evesham , 4 years no problems.
