Anyone had any experience of the Texecom remote mic. The one that connects to the Texecom dialler.

I may have a faulty one or they might just be rubbish, I've adjusted mine several times trying to get the listen in feature to work and if everything around me is silent and I listen very hard I can just about hear something :( I've adjusted the pot on the unit both ways and no joy what so ever. any suggestions apart from put a hammer to it, or anyone know of a good one tha works.

We used a couple of these units, but not the speaker.... We had problems with the units and so stopped using them. We prefer the Pyronix Vocaliser. Much better message clarity & a damn good speaker

Thanks for that Alarm Guard, I must agree about the message clarity on the Texecom dialler its poor and as for the remote mic thats really bad quallity sound from it, or should I say lack of sound from it the the case of mine.

I'll take a look at the Pyronix vocaliser.

Hi Sparkyboy,

I read your post and checked up with our tech support and returns department. We've never actually had any faulty RMU's returned back to us so I thought I better investigate further.

I suspect the problem is that the listen-in mode was not being enabled after connection.

The routine should be as follows:

1. Connect via the remote access

2. Enable the relevant output (eg *1 if using output 1)

3. Enable listen-in (*3)

Without step 3 it might be possible to hear very very low level sound but obviously that is not the intended method, once listen-in is enabled you should hear everything loud and clear.

If you need any further information on this please do not hesitate to call John Hill in our technical support department who is aware of your comments (tel 01706 234811) and will happily talk you through any programming queries.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks for your assistance Mark.

the problem could be down to operator error. I'll go through what you say later and post my results. I hope the problem is with me as I've been very pleased with the rest of the Texecom kit I've got installed.

Just a quick update.

all is working fine now after a reset of the NVM and reprogramming the unit, though I must say the clarity of the speach being picked up isn't to grand, its audiable enough but the clarity is fairly poor. still it will do the job. Thanks to all for the input.

Regards

Mark
