i would employ a competant alarm company given your experiences the one you have is not looing too clever :'( - how many visits and still not sorted :ninja: - very sad story i hope they are not charging for all these calls :bruce_h4h: .

if they are N.A.C.O.S.S. registered and as they (N.A.C.O.S.S.) state in their liturature that the benifits of using a N.A.C.O.S.S. registered installer is that N.A.C.O.S.S. will ensure the alarm company and N.A.C.O.S.S. (not your alarm company) will ensure that ALL the engineers are fully trained, fully competant and fully equiped to install and rectify any fault - thats a N.A.C.O.S.S. declaration that is A N.A.C.O.S.S. promise all that. Hmmmm! thats why i will not DREAM of joining them - GORGI could show them how its done.

This post has been quiet for a couple of months so one assumes that the maintainer whoever and whatever inspectorate they belong to honoured their customer obligation and rectified the problem. Where does all the anti NACOSS propaganda come from? I assume you meant CORGI and are speaking from the gas generated from your own ass.

The engineer needs to check across the 2 cables used to power the detector for ac voltage. If ac voltage greater then 1 v is preasent this will cause the detector to false alarm. This maybe caused by High power lighting or the alrm cable being run parrallel with higher voltege cables ( cables for sokets, lights etc..). A 12v suppresser can be fitted if this is the case to groung the interfierence down to earth !!

Good luck

hi jef,

no the 'gorgi' bit comes from the fact they have teethe and are prepared to use theme in the gas fitting side of plumming trade, even against the big companies.

why am i so acidic? well, giving past approval to the BT Intruder devission, and give it to the 'three initials' company who blatently use subcontractors - completely against the rules - and who use a franchise system to get arround the intended regulations.

know any big name companies who deserved to be booted out - and actually were?

put this well known phrase in order 'sleeves shirts down laughing their'.

so as a very fussy engineer, who is extremely proud of his trademanship, its not an organisation i would wish to be associated with.

if you want the full sp read my other posts

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
