Guest Bignuts121 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Hi - turned the alarm off as normla this am, Just gone to go out and the alarm code wont work ? Why ? I have had the alarm from new just over 2 years - Cant get hold of the installer and have no manuals, I needs help ASAP - dont want to leave the house unarmed !! regards Liam
Guest Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 When you say code won't work, how? No bleeps, no lights on keypad, code entered but inrecognised? Is there anything on the keypad other than what there normally is? Could be the system is in a state that means it can't be set for some reason? There is also a manual posted by me in the last hour or so somewhere nearby, quick search and it'll turn up.

Guest Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Do you recommend isolating the elecs to house and turning back on ? Do it if you want, I wouldn't recommend it though. When you say can't get hold of installer, do you mean gone out of business can't get hold of or just temporarily unavailable?
Guest Guest Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Service Timer 3 ? Does it need a service ? Is this expensive ? Do you know any service guys in SY8 area - Ludlow Shropshire ? My installer has changed numbers - left message but as yet no reply !! Thanks p.s. can this be remedied in the meantime of waiting for a service ?

If you can`t get in touch with your installer somebody on here will be able to help i`m sure p.s. can this be remedied in the meantime of waiting for a service ? Unfortunately not unless you know the engineer code Trade Full Member
Guest Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 A service is recommended annually ideally. Some installers will set a timer to expire after 12 Months+ to lock the system out to prevent you using it whilst it is potentially deteriorating. Without knowing what your installer did I can't say, also not sure how the Veritas service timer works but I'm sure it should have given you some indication before locking out?
