Please can anyone help?????

I have just moved into a new house and attempted to change the code on the Accenta 8 mini alarm system using the instructions the old owners left but they made no sense. i followed an instruction but the panel appears to have shut off. The power light and day mode LED have gone off and there is a continuous bleeping sound but the alarm has not activated outside.......

I inputted the code which initially worked but this doesnt stop the bleeping now or de-activate the system.

In the end, i had to disconnect the sound wire which stopped the noise but if re-connected, the continous buzzer sounds comes back on. It was fine before i followed the instruction but then it just went off. I've opened up the main box where the wires are and the main red LED is still lit up so dont think it can be broken but dont know what to do with it.

Can anyone help with suggestions, im lost!

More information as to what instructions you followed are needed - going inside the box and removing wires won't have helped the situation!

The alarm worked fine initially then i attempted to change the user code via the instruction manual. For some reason, the code didn't change and when the alarm was turned off and people were in the living room (zone 2), it would beep once every 15 seconds or so and the zone LED would flash.

Below is the instruction i then followed which caused the system to continually bleep:-

TO OMIT ZONES Enter a 4 digit user code and if required, select program 2 or 3. Press OMIT, the exit tone will stop and the zones that are about to be armed will be displayed. Key in the zone number(s) to be omitted which will flash to confirm selection. (Zones which have been programmed as omit prevent will give a reject tone.) When the selection is complte press SET and the exit tone will continue.

Dont know if this help you to understand my problem any better???

If you wanted to change your user code, then why did you follow the zone omit instructions ?.

Your panel sounds as if you were into walk test when it was bleeping every 15 seconds.

I would recommend you get someone out who knows your panel.

Top tip: if you ever catch fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because i bet thats what REALLY throws you into a panic and dont forget the one thing you cant recycle is wasted time.
