Guest Guest_Andy_* Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I have inherited an //.National Installer.// Accord Xpc from the previous owner. I have no installation or user manuals, but I do have the reset code. I switched the lighting circuit off, to rewire some lights (the same circuit that the alarm is wired into) and when I switched it back on there is an icon of a battery with a flashing cross on the bottom right of my alarm panel. Can anyway tell me why its there, and what do I have to do to fix it. If anybody could also get me a copy of the user and installation manuals that would also be excellent. Thanks Andy
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 "You can probably temporarily cure this by entering your code, but you should seek proffesional help (this does not have to be //.National Installer.//)." Pete Thanks for the note, I am an electrician, but have never worked with alarms. Can I not service it myself ? Whats involved exactly , Andy
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 No joy in entering the code. If I pop off the lighting ring and back on again. The indicator dissapears for a few minutes then re-appears. More specific help would be really appreciated, dont really want to have to call somebody in, if I can do it myself. A
morph Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 User manual attached, but you should contact //.National Installer.// as the system may still be connected to them and require resetting by them. If its not under contract you will need to contact a local alarm company. Accord_XPC_User_manual.pdf
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Thanks for the user manual There is nothing in there that tells you how to clear the battery indicator. It is not under contract with //.National Installer.//. I really dont think it can be that complex that I have to call somebody in, Do i simply need to replace the battery, or is it going to earth somewhere and registering a battery fault. Somebody, must know this stuff, rather than saying just phone somebody.
norman Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Hello and welcome, Firstly the battery may have discharged below the requirements of the control panel. leave the lighting circuit on and this will/should recharge the battery if it is in good condition. After a couple of hours recharging enter your code again and this will clear the battery icon. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

How long was the power off? When was the system last serviced by //.National Installer.// or any other company?
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Thanks guys. finally some progress. The power was off for about an hour.
