Guest Richard Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Hi, I installed an Optima G3 Compact panel at the weekend with fornt and back door sensors and 2 PIR's. All works except I cannot seem to confgure an entry delay on the front door sensor, which is connected to Zone 1 on the panel. The effect of this means that opening the front door triggers and alarm condition. What do I need to do? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you, Richard/ Stockport

Thank you, Richard/ Stockport I thought that was the default factory setting; Zone 1 set for entry/exit with a 30-second delay; check the installation manual. Have you changed the programming?

Or have you perhaps wired the door contact switch into the tamper circuit or another zone by mistake?
Guest Guest Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I did fiddle with the programming.... I will have a look again tonight when I get home. Thanks.
amateurandy Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I did fiddle with the programming.... I will have a look again tonight when I get home. Thanks. A "Walk test" (look in the manual) will soon identify if you've wired it up correctly or not. Saves checking the wiring with a meter, etc., at least as a first step. If the walk test confirms your front door is zone 1 it's probably the programming. The factory default probably has zone 2 as time inhibited. That setting (time inhibited) should be used for any PIR's that cover the front door and route to the control panel (typically hallway) so that they don't trigger the alarm when you walk in the door during the 30 second delay. Silly question, but did you check which zone actually triggers the alarm - is it definitely zone 1?
Guest Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Sounds like the zone setup could be at default and the hall PIR is on zone 3 or 4 so when the door is opened the PIR picks you up and goes into alarm. I did fiddle with the programming.... Great.
kka Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 think you need to check the programming, on final door entry Kevin Scott. Owner of KK Alarms...... Installation .. Service .. Repair ...... Guest Alarm Guard Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 If you don't know exactly what you did when you 'fiddled' probably the best idea would be to return the panel to factory defaults and start again....
