Guest ian@apex network Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Hello, (customer said think i need an upgrade) We arived to install a nice euro 28 in some old cottage, when i saw the system we where upgrading it became a instant classic among people with alarm interest, it was a solid state wooden mahogany finish standalone system, dials insted of buttons two needles (like an analog multi meter) to show the sensitivity of the sensors (must have been some sort of raido signal detection) the two sensors where black boxes about size of a brick with about 1.5 meter extendable ariel. (eye sore) It was still working and still is, think its somewhere in my shed now. System was made by company called (saftron?) still online, i think! Customer said it was installed in the late 60`s Ever heard of this system? i could dig it out and post a pic

Guest Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Yeah i guess it was!!! if you love to listen to alarm sounders/ I think they call that 'rave music' actually. (See norm, I'm young 'cos I'm down with it )
ABC Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I was going to say keyswitch and think it had an integrated PIR as well, or some sort of volumetric sensor. All in a nice mahogany/walnut wood (!) case. The one I pulled was running on valves, so I think by the date on it and service records, it was at least a '59 or older.
Guest ian@apex network Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Rave music? been a while since heard that word roll on the D&B my friend
djrock Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Anyone got any pictures of these systems? djrock
