Guest Ian Lewis Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Hi all I have a question I hope you can help me with, I am installing an alarm into my house with a speech dialler and have a question about connecting it, The alarm is a Lynteck Nexus 8 and the dialler is a Melcom AD1000 The speech dialler has an input witch can be either set to 12v or 0V dc, the panel has 5 connections to the bell box Tamper, TRG, Hold +, Hold
morph Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Connect a wire between the TrG terminal on the alarm to the input and program it as negative applied. then follow the instructions as stated.
Guest Guest Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Connect a wire between the TrG terminal on the alarm to the input and program it as negative applied. then follow the instructions as stated. Thanks everyone for your help, i have one last thing The manual said When input is wired to the bell output negative (-), alarm trigger must be programmed as 0VDC, also a 1K resistor must be wired from bell output negative(-) to bell output positive(+). Because I am using the trigger not the bell output (-) should I connect the provided resistor from the trigger to the hold + as stated in the book or could this damage my panel ? or is this not required Thanks again Ian
morph Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 TRG is the bell output. You need to be careful how you wire the bell also, as I suspect you may have the wiring wrong.
