Hope someone will be good enough to help.

I am replacing an old corroded bell box with a new siren type with strobe.

However, the wiring in the Alarm Panel has the following connections:

Strobe +, Strobe -, Bell -, Bell +, T & A

The Bell Box has the following connections:

+12v, 0v, TAM 0v, NEG Trig, STR Neg

:(

If anyone can advise how I should connect the two I would be very grateful.

[Hi,

at a guess, I would connect as follows:

Bell + - +12v

Bell - - 0v

Strobe - - STR Neg

T - TAM 0v

A - NEG Trig

anyone else?

Andrew

It wires this way.

bell + to +12v

strobe - to STR neg

bell - to NEG trig

T to TAM 0v

A to 0v

You don't need a connection from strobe + to the bell box since it has already got a +ve supply from the bell +

Weekend!!

If you are going to be a proper DIY Alarm Engineer, you ought to fix it within 4 hours of either the wife or Bellman telling you how to do it :)

Fair point that - I should have asked her first since women are always right.

Bellman was of course spot on and it works great (shame about the missus). :P

I'm not trying to over-complicate things, but.... should it be simple to wire in 2 identical bell boxes (one front, one rear) ??

I see I post the correction of the first post and Chris gets all the thanks??

Pete

Great minds think alike and all that Pete, and to be fair when I started to write my reply there was only the reply from cdosrun.

You must have far nimbler fingers than me Pete :P
