Dimmer Switch?

Hi,

I have a hall and landing. (2 way Switch)

Is there any way to use a Dimmer Switch? :(

Yes, fit a dimmer switch. :)

Use a 2 way dimmer and replace one switch only.

I was not sure if I could use a Dimmer.

Just be carefull, and check the depth of the back box will accomodate the dimmer switch.

yep been caught out on that one years ago.(young and daft)

can't use two dimmers.

You can fit a matching switch at the other end just buy yourself a on/off module it will look like a dimmer but its not that way it will intergate better haveing matching switches both upstairs and downstairs .and if it has a metal face plate dont forget to earth it ( most important)

What about all the other switches in the rest of the house?

You can get master/slave dimmers - but why bother? a dimmer at one location is fine - make sure it's a 2way dimmer (will be push on/push off type).

Most dimmers will work on low voltage (wattage????), but the transformer will need to be a dimmable type if elecronic, and you will need to downrate the dimmers max watts accordingly.

Commonly (no pun), the common terminal is marked with a squiggle (variable) rather than a C.
