Guest Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 is there a way of printing still pictures from time lapse video recorders without the use of a pc?if not what is the easiest way to do it with a pc? any help greatly appreciated, total novice here there are printers for that purpose but i believe you don't want to buy a new one anymore.. for PC any video capture card will do with decent resolution. i have used HAUPPAUGE (attachable into USB port) in those few times it was really necessary..
Guest austin Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 any idea where il find one of these printers? cost? are the pictures decent good quality, dont really want to go down the pc route
Rich Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Video printers http://www.securitydirect.co.uk/acatalog/M...nters.html#a411 You will probably find other makes, and it may even be worth a check on ebay. http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll...nter&category0= Depends if you want colour or monochrome. http://www.sld.co.uk/welcome.htm check the sales link, video printers there too, probably better contacting them direct.
Guest austin Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 i will be wanting this to use with mitsubishi time lapse recorders, so would i need a mitsi printer? sorry for my ignorance
Rich Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 The printer will take a composite video signal, so should work with any VCR
Guest austin Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 thanks for the help, might just wait till we get a new digital system
Rich Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Basically they are a printer that accepts a composite video signal, a composite video signal is the standard signal cameras use, as do most types of video equipment, like TV's videos, camcorders etc. What you do is connect the output of your VCR onto the printer, and find the image you want to print on the vcr, press pause and get the image still, then press the print button on the printer, you will print what you see on the screen. thanks for the help, might just wait till we get a new digital system Probably a good idea. Just make sure you understand how the images are taken from the DVR too before you buy one.
Guest austin Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 images will be stored on the pc so no real need for one out of interest what would be the quality of image printed on something like that? this would be for prints of people (shoplifters) from good ptz cameras in a supermarket. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JVC-GV-PT2-Digital-V...1QQcmdZViewItem
Rich Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I would have no idea, it says 140dpi which isn't great, but then its only small photos, I would suggest that when you are using the PTZ's that you get a decent image where the suspect takes up the full height of the screen or 120% preferably, and then also get a facial shot. You have more chance of it being used then.
