Guest Hacman Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Bought a Scantronic 9448 yesterday for a customer. Fitted it all well no problems. Got a call today to say not working, went out to look and the keypad on the panel is lit but the column of leds is not, bell outside alternating, but nothing from panel, open door and no lights or sounds to say tamper, pir's still flashing, so power is to the aux side. All fuses ok, Am a spark by trade so do not know if it is a stock fault etc, easy to fix or wuld it be easier to get replacement board. Has anyone come accross this and if so what causes/caused it
Guest rjbsec Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Was it new when you bought it or "eBay"? Did you fully test it after fitting? If so was it fully working? What do you mean by "bell outside alternating"? Has the customer gone into a programming function? Have you tried defaulting and starting again?
bellman Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Have you tried defaulting and starting again? QFA. Scantronic panels do sometimes crash like this, They used to have a little red sticker inside saying they MUST be NVM reset before being returned as faulty. Any that came back just needing NVM reset would be charged as no fault found. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Guest Hacman Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Bell alternating between green led and red. Panel brand new from Newey and Ayre. Tested fully when completed. 100% ok Have tried full reset but to no avail
Guest Hacman Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Not a programming error, besides engineer code changed from default by me so they could not 'mess around with settings' they were not about either when code was changed.
Guest rjbsec Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Bell alternating between green led and red. Good grief I've got that fault on about 60% of my bellboxes! Looks like you've bitten off more than you can chew and you need a local alarm engineer to get you out of your difficulty, something is clearly not right with what you have done.
Guest Guest Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Excuse me RJBSEC everything I have done is fine. As I said the panel is faulty all I was asking is, is it a known fault and easy to rectify. The installation was working fine. Have since replaced panel for new one and guess what everything works fine again. If your little jibe bout the bell box was supposed to be funny it didn't work. Go on tell me why is what I have done not right. Entry exit zone on 7 working Entry exit on zone 3 working Pa on zone 6 working PIR's on 124 working zone 5 spare. All tampers in and correct remote keypad working. Bell box working fine. Besides I bet it is a better installation than most of the cowboy alarm engineers I have seen anyway, all wiring is concealed and correct. Which is more than I can say for some of the reputable alarm companies around here. Sounds to me like your a bit raw, whats up not a sparky and a bit upset that you can't do my job as well as yours where as I can
whistle Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 how much current is the system drawing in alarm? All tampers in and correct ?? whats the reading for the tamper loop. Lets hope its a 3amp fuse in the spur I could go on
