Guest pzamani Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Hi. I am re-installing a Chubb alarm system that I took with me when I moved house (will be wired upto a new scantronic panel not yet purchased)... Is there anyone with knowledge of the wiring diagram and how to connect the Chubb sounder W73522? It has ten points labelled: 1: Siren Hi-off 2. +V 3. 0V 4. Siren 5. Bat +ve 6. Bat -ve 7. Tamp 8. Tamp 9. +STR 10. -STR Specifically I want to get the bell connected and placed in-situ up but silence the sounder until I connect the panel. thx.philz @ zamaniphil@yahoo.co.uk

Guest jmancs Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 There is no point in telling you where to put the wires if you don't have a clue what panel your getting.... Regards, James
Guest pzamani Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 actually I have a temporary panel that simply o/p's 12Volts on alarm, so the questions are: 1. do I simply connect the panels +ve alarm o/p to point 2 (+V) and the alarms -ve o/p to point 3 (OV)? 2. Do I need to short all other connections i.e. short in pairs connections 7&8, 9&10 & 1&4? 3. connections 1&4 are confusing me - i.e. should they be shorted? 4. do I connect the backup battery to points 5&6? any help would be much appreciated...thx....phil
Guest jmancs Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Hi mate, any chance of telling us what panel it is and we'll tell you the answer
Guest pzamani Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 as stated this is a temporary fix until I get the scantronic panel I need... the panel is a cheap micromark unit, model MM23084 with simple +9/12Volts op when an alarm state is reached i.e. all I hAave to control the bell box is 2 wires that go to a +ve state (9/12Volts) on an alarm...any ideas about terminateing the other terminals i.e. should I simply short these in pairs? thx again..philz04

Guest pzamani Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I know what you are saying...I have no time to do this as away from home for a few weeks on business...I simply need to know how to tie down the temporarily unused inputs (tamper, strobe etc...) - is shorting them enough or do I need to tie them to a negative connection...any input would be welcome...thx...phil
