Guest pauly Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Hi, I've had some electrical work carried out during which the fuse for the electrics was pulled. When the electric was put back on, I noticed that the "Unset" light on the alarm control is flashing (it's usually constantly on). I moved into the property 6 months ago with the alarm already installed, so I dont know any information regarding it's servicing history etc. I have downloaded the user guide but can't solve the problem. Any ideas? , Pauly.
Guest pauly Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yep I've tried that as that usually works when it's been activated. However, it doesn't do anything now. I have "set the system with a power fault" as in the manual and it seems to set ok. I can unset it afterwards, but the "unset" lights begins to flash again.
breff Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 sounds like a blown fuse. change the fuse in the spur next to the main control unit The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Lectrician Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 sounds like a blown fuse. change the fuse in the spur next to the main control unit Yep, a flashing green led is mains off. Blown fues in panel, the panels FCU, or your friendly spark has managed to accidently isolate the supply. Ac quickly...the panel battery an only last so long....before the SAB activates and deafens you and your neighbours for 20 odd minutes Email : martin@askthetrades.co.uk
Guest Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Restoring the ac should not pop any fuses, mains fail is also quirky on the veritas as it will indicate a duff battery eg. Drawing too much mA, but the panel will not know when battery fuse or the battery it self are missing
Guest pauly Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Thanks for your help guys. I was awoken at 3am last night but a loud buzzing noise coming from the panel box. Luckily a friend of a friend who is an alarm engineer came this morning to put it right. The battery was duff which meant it tried to draw too much power and blew the fuse. When the battery finally died (at 3am) it all finally packed up, made a racket for 20 mins and died. I now have a new battery, new fuse and a fully working alarm system.
Adi Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Everbody's happy PS ask your mates mate to give it a regular service every year. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
