Securicor Engineers

Following the Securicor takeover by Initial Shorrock a neighbouring branch acquired one of their engineers.

As these guys were on a far higher rate of pay they had a wage freeze for some four or five years until we caught them up. Needless to say this engineer saw the light and is no longer with the company !

It would be interesting to know if there are any ex-securicor guys still in the game and if so, where ?

There's plenty still in the game, just not at Initial!

As far as Newcastle was concerned, only Les stuck with it but he wasnt bothered, needed an easy life on maint and happily runs his chip shop and guitar selling.

Hoyely is still there also but on sales. easy life also doing the county council work.

Scotty is now a maint eng in a prison.

Geordie Crighton is on for SSAIB as an inspector, im sure plenty have met him now.

Ritchie is doing what he always did, still on the sick afaik.

Chris runs his own firm AVS.

Neil is on for NT locks or whatever theyre called these days.

Old Bob Lunn is retired.

John Downie is a rep for CBC.

Malc Webb runs the engineering for IDS in Newcastle.

Dave proffit is the tech man for SSAIB, the secret handshake club for old Securicor staff.

There maybe others who i cant recall right now who are still out and about but none working for Initial afaik, not at Newcastle anyway.

Top tip: if you ever catch fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because i bet thats what REALLY throws you into a panic and dont forget the one thing you cant recycle is wasted time.
