Hi to all, I'm new on here so just finding my way about.

I need help had a callout last Saturday to a Menvier 2500. Keypad display showed mains power failure. On checking found the 240v supply OK, but unable to clear display. While on site I removed the battery (3amp) and checked it with ACT battery meter. readings showed 13.4 V and 1.6 amp. As this was below acceptable limits I replaced the battery with an 7 amp. On replacing the lid and leaving engineering I now found the display showed "battery fault". Removed battery again to check that I hadn't fitted a duff one. All checked out OK. but display still showing "battery fault"

Any ideas as to the cause would be appreciated. I am returning to the site again today so will up date with findings later.

Dont think i'm giving anything away on the open forem when I say either leave the panel for about an hour and the display will clear or down power and power up again and the battery will be seen as healthy and display will clear!--If your in the trade and can prove it! why not apply for trade status where you can get much more help?

You've checked there's no monitored psu(s) on the system?

Have been back to site today screen now showing date and time etc. so now seems to be OK. Thanks for the help and yes I will apply for Trade Status thank Secboy. Did think about monitored PSU's Mr Happy - only one and that is OK. Probably just needed to wait as Secboy suggested.

Thanks again everyone.

Also remember that just because a battery is new, it is not neccessarilly fully charged, hence when doing new installs it is good practice to get the controls on the wall and mains done early so that the battery can get a charge and also any control panel problems show up before home time.
