Guest shuggy Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Hi, I moved into my new house 12 months ago, with the alarm already fitted. Up until recently, I used to hear a "chime" every time the front door was opened, which was great. Unfortunately this has stopped over the last two days. I have not had a power cut, nor has the electricity gone off. I have downloaded the user guide as I did not have one, but this has not helped. I followed the instructions for re-setting the chime (which is Zone 1) and this has not worked either. The key pad is telling me that the chime is set (by reproducing the chime sound), but I am baffled as to why this has just stopped working. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Anusoflannigan Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 you can toggle it on and off with the chime button. Try pressing it, you may of turned it off accidently
dpaengineer Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 open the door with the door contact on and tap the part on the frame with the end of a screwdriver (handle) or some other handy object. If you then hear the chime the door contact is faulty and needs replacing. Trade Member
Guest ALSEC Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 First thought as above, faulty contact - have you managed to set/unset the alarm successfully since the chime stopped working?? If it won't set or goes off when you open the door and trigger the PIR in hall then door contact is faulty!
