Alex you really ought to pull your finger out and do the research yourself, took me all of 5 mins to correct your previous post.

Vista VCMH24F according to the pdf on Norbains site is 24v ac 30W (I=P/V) therefore 1.25 amps is the draw.

A suitable metal clad 24v ac psu was easily found on Norbains web site Dantech DA381 which will give you 1 x 2A output for the heater and another for the camera.

Let me know when you want the install sorted out and i will come and do that for you too.

Found out today Ian that I was right, that chart sheet you showed is only for that one housing, the 24v AC unit is infact 12watt, tip for the future...if your going to be a know-it-all make sure you do know it all!

Regards, Alex.

Sorry but there's either a typo or you've been misinformed. Ian was right, that datasheet says ALL housings mentioned across the top of the table are 30W. If the housing is in fact 12W then it's a typo on the datasheet.

Sorry Alex, your still wrong! :'(

Ive never professed to be a know it all (i wouldnt dare call myself an expert ) but i do know how to read datasheets and i will try to teach you how to read that sheet now.

There are 7 models of Vista Housings on that sheet, some are 240v ac, some 24v ac and one 12v/24v ac or dc, they are all shown in a seperate box for heater voltages. That is not an accident or a typing error!

There is only 1 description of the power consumption meaning there is only 1 heater wattage. That is the same as there is only 1 opening method for all the housings, only 1 IP rating, 1 colour and 1 construction type. Again that isnt by accident or a typing error.

Using your method of reading that sheet only the VSCMH250 is IP66 rated, comes in RAL7035 and has a 30w heater fitted.

Whereas the VSCMH250/LV probably isnt IP66 rated, it only partially has a slide and hang method of opening, god only know what colour it comes in and its partially epoxy coated aluminium.

Somehow Alex i dont think that would then qualify as a data sheet, more like a contents list on a xmas cracker box.

Surely your not trying to convince me (and the others who agree with me) that your method is correct? :P

Ive been in this game long enough to read & understand these data sheets, i cant match your qualifications, very impressive, you must have spent a long time studying. Im just the proverbial thick Geordie and cant help it, i do however have almost 20years in this industry which means i would have been found out long ago if i didnt know what i was doing.

Something i learnt during my 10 years in the Royal Navy, Commissioned officers generally were very well educated and had impressive qualifications. There were also generally lacking in common sense and occasionally were downright stupid. :fear:

It is of course quite possible that theyre using different wattage heaters in all of these housings but that data sheet states otherwise. :hmm:

Ok, my bad, sorry Ian.

In the maual that came with the housing it does state 12w though.
