Alexg Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Guys, Is it acceptable to use red FP200 for general power or should it solely be used for fire pannels. Tah!
Guest Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Depends what you mean by 'general'. If you mean wiring a complete buildings power and lighting in red FP then no, I would use white. For a radial to a fire panel then red would be acceptable. We've done a lot of fire alarms for councils and most of them have specced red pyro as fire alarm supply wiring. Make of that what you will!
Alexg Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 Thanks Lurch, I have loads of drums of it, I need to run a radial round for some camera spurs and was going to use it if I could rather than buying white FP200
Guest Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I'd use white for that, although there's nothing to say you can't use red.
norman Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Not only is red acceptable for the mains supply on a fire alarm,it is the preferred colour in the BS for all yur circuits! However, councils ldo ike pyro for power circuits - it's not unique to your side of the pond.
