Guest Justin Roberts Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Hi there this is for the Aritech ATS fans, Just recently i installed an ATS 3000 with 1 RAS, 1 smart psu DGP, 1 DGP which was located about 50m from the panel and a power supply unit which powered all my detectors for the whole system. System was tested and commisioned. The system was working fine for 1 week then a zone through up a tamper. On arrival the zone was showing health with no tamper and resistance readings sweet as a nut. This zone was a new detector, but it got replaced anyway for another new detector (DD105)along with the cable when an engineer visited site. All ok for another another week untill the same thing happens again !! Has anyone got a solution or experienced a fault like this before ? Thannks Justin
C.S TEK. Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 typical service guys, take the eazy option and change it. should have swapped zone around with another to prove where fault is. could well be a intermitant fault, maybe cable caught in trunking or grid and slamming a door or other vibration is causing. Also are you using the built in resistors of dd105, had a few panels that didnt like them a few times. vandamme Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 If the circuit was on zone two its the Ats software problem, when the panel is defaulted zone two requires a resistor in it. If the zone is tamper or open when defaulting the system will fail to trigger the open/close flag, meaning the system needs defaulting again. Happy days!! B) SSAIB Approved. If it ain't broke, you ain't trying hard enough
PJF Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Had this once before on a CD95, Dry joint at the input. I would move the DD105 to another cct, put a 4k7 into the problem cct then put cct on soak. Come back in a week and have a look. If it shows its the panel the next step is up to you "replace or not to replace that is the question" Top tip: if you ever catch fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because i bet thats what REALLY throws you into a panic and dont forget the one thing you cant recycle is wasted time.

Thank you but I'm a "service guy" and I certainly wouldn't have just swapped it over without actually bothering to test for any faults!
Guest Justin Roberts Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Thanks for that lads, never knew about putting a resistor in zone 2 ! handy to know, really useful since im fitting these ATSs everyday now, got to get used to them i suppose !
PJF Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Justin, I dont know who you work for, but if your from St asph?(sounds like that ) then you should have got a email from tech about this and a few other new features that the ATS has. Did you find the fault yet, let us know the outcome. B) If any one decides to look back here, again! If you do find yourself defulting without a resistor in Zone 2... The Panel Does NOT need to be defaulted again, this problem can be resolved by, placing zone 2 as Zone type 14 (Access) and setting and unsetting... just thought id say, casue some poor soul may find themsleves fully programmed and the cct2 fault arrises, Follow that and u should (99.9% of the time) be ok
