Is the IR light harmfull to humans if directed at them for long periods of time? I am only asking as i have a day/night camera set up above our daughter cot and it's active all night, so we can check on her without waking her!

Thanks

The IR light itself is not harmful to human eyes

Honey...........Ive IR'd the baby! :fear:

I actually found it strangely amusing that you put the camera with IR up and then wondered if it was a dangerous thing to have done, Oh the pleasures of parenting and it only get worse as they get older lol :hmm:

Yes IR lights can be harmful because they get really hot if you are right in front of them.
Only those fitted with bulbs, the LED type fitted in most cheap day/night camera's at best get warm.

IR light in itself is harmless, infact my Dad used to have an IR heat lamp as recommended by his Doctor to ease minor aches and pains.

Was there a time when 1000 Watt spotlamps existed?

That would be a heater not a lamp as such.......... :banned:

then you could feel it when you are surveillanced

I installed it, then the next day thought about this, so i have not had it on sice in the night :)

Although if she started to glow in the dark, i would of course turn it of LoL

And no they don't get hot, even though it's a cheapy it just gets warm and it's well out of reach :)

Thanks guyz!
