luggsey Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Hello,The problem here is mate that BS5839 is just a standard it's not LAW, however that being said you have a duty of care to advise your customer that there system does not meet the requirements of BS 5839. If you advise your customer of this and they don't do anything it's outwith your control and you have covered your bum. An old thread comes to life! Most all BS is not "Law" but is quoted as such in court. Guest G.J.M Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Don't you Scots have different law to us English? Whats gonna happen if Scotland breaks away from the UK, will British standard still apply? Yes we have a sensible one... It appplies to a few things but not all. I think that 5839 will still be valid.
