Guest Henry Wright Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi, I've just finishing installing a Nexus 8 alarm, all sensors work OK, as does the internal sounder. I just decided to connect it to an external //.National Installer.// bell box (purchased off EBAY !) I thought that I had wired it correctly but obviously I have not... If I do a system test "TE" Option 2 - "BL" External bell test, nothing
bellman Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I just decided to connect it to an external //.National Installer.// bell box (purchased off EBAY !) Ask The chap on ebay how to wire it or didn't he supply instructions , There are several different //.National Installer.// boxes and they all wire up slightly differently. Why would you want an //.National Installer.// box anyway? Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Guest Henry Wright Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 EBAY man has long since gone (teach me) and no instructions supplied The only reason for using the //.National Installer.// box was that I liked the colour The plain white one that came with the Nexus, just did not give the impression of a credible alarm system!
jb-eye Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 The plain white one that came with the Nexus, just did not give the impression of a credible alarm system! Top Quote! I think i will use this post over and over as an example why people should use a proper alarm co. Jef Customers!
Vince8282 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 The manual says to remove this link if it Practice in the morning, practice at night. Practice in the evening, until you get it right. Only make sure you are practising in the right way at the right time for it.
Guest Henry Wright Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Thanks for the sugestion, just tried that, but still same probelm... Does the my wiring (above) look correct to you guys? Henry
bellman Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Is the box and cover new or second hand? Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
bellman Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 It's new, came wrapped in film etc In that case it's stolen property, the bentel was NEVER availible new outside of //.National Installer.//, not even to the dealers. Ring //.National Installer.// and ask then to provide you instructions. This type of thing really hacks me off. people think it's the proper alarm co's system thats falsing all the time when in reallity it's some cruddy DIY system, with a pukka box. I'm with jef here and the lengths he goes to to claw back boxes with his company name on. For the record, the bentel wasn't the most reliable of boxes and it suffers from tamper problems.
