dsw Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks for all your replies guys. The reason i can only use wireless is because they just want to walk into a shop( bare in mind these are people who dont know anything about cctv) and place a camera in any location then watch and record from another room. This is then being moved from shop to shop so cables would take up too much time. I might try your suggestions and get some different recievers. They are giga air basic stuff but they work fine even up to 200m with a good aerial. Will try theyr cust services. Thanks again
Paul Giles Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 How long do the batteries last in these things? I am designing a job at the moment with solar in mind, split charging system and wireless transmission up to 1K There is no power anywhere near the proposed site of the camera and thats the only option i could come up with! dsw Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 We have made our own battery pack using 10 c cell batteries at 3700mah. They work brilliantly, last a full working day around 9hrs and charge in a few hours over night ready for next day. Solar sounds good, just remember ur in the uk where the sun coming out is a rare sight!lol. How are you going to get 1km without licence? what are you using transmitter and reciever wise if you dont mind me asking.

I have been looking for a similar solution to cover very large compound with 24/7 man guarding!1.VERY LOW LIGHT DAY/NIGHT 12VDC CAM. 2.SOME MAKE OF RADIO TRANSMISSION WITHOUT LICENCE UP TO 1K. 3.24AHR RECHARGEABLE BATTERY. 4.12VDC 1000MA SOLAR PANEL WITH CHARGE CONTROL UNIT. Reason for kit? Fast deployment. No power available. Plug in and forget!. If anyone can add to this from experience of suitable kit I would be very interested,as soon as I find the right combination I will build the system for trial!!!! regards Paul.
