Guest hughe292 Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Hi, Can any one assist please. I had a situation where my keypad on my 10 year old Optima XL6 failed to make any noises when entering my codes. I have bought a relacement main battery, after testing batterys in panel and bellbox. Replacing battery made no difference. fault traced to small printed circuit that runs from the back of keypad to pcb connector. much corrossion (high resistance) removed and system now working again. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this printed circuit wiring? Or is it a case of replacing the unit? If so, will the OPTIMA G3 be a good replacement/straightforward swop over? Thanks in advance, from a very compitant DIYer
Guest oldtimer Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Hughe You signed off as a very compitant DIYer so me thinks you will be more than able to fit a replacement panel. If you got 10 years out of a optima panel me thinks it does not owe you a thing. you should treat alarm panels like you would a TV or radio. Once it has served its purpose replace it. Best thing to do id go for a Accenta 8 (not mini) cos if you are comfortable with the optima then this is from the same stable. PS why not a mini ? cos its to bloody small and an enthusiastic diyer needs a bit of room to move
morph Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Old Timer is right time for a new panel and this would be a good time to renew the systems batteries also. Colin.
Guest kenny james Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 should'nt have a problem with any of the above as they are all from the same ade family only problem you would encounter is the new g3 models only have 3 connections per 4 terminals on your zone connections. ade have said this is to reduce the amount of components assembled onto the pcb boards.
